Going to be making some 1 Hr SVCD's on 700 Meg media. What is the best, longest lasting media available (reasonable price)?

According to the pointy-heads, gold disks should work and last best, although they didn't test black disks at the time. Blue were supposed to be the worst. They were testing surface reflectivity and longevity. The colors come from a combination of the dye layer, lens layer, and backing.
Various players will have varying results. Many people have problems with some el cheapo brands, although they work for some. Many peop-[le have excellent results with brand-name hi-speed disks although some report problems.
