I'm capturing from VHS tape: With one tape - no problems at all (15 frames dropped over 1 hour - with another tape (very similar content) it drops HEAPS of frames (40%). No matter what I try, it's always the same.
I'm capturing using HuffYuv @ 384 X 288 24 bit RGB (also tried YUY2) - 25fps.
CPU resourses are constantly only 25-30%.
System:
PIII 933
384MB RAM
40G 7200rpm HDD
Bt848 based card
I'm new to all this stuff so here goes ...
1) Is it possible something is different with the tape content that could be giving trouble? If so - what can be done to overcome it?
2) Would a higher quality capture card be any more likely capture better, or would I be wasting my money (it's obviously not dropping frames because the computer is struggling - going by the CPU resourses, and speed of the machine).
Cheers
