  1. Every time I try to play a SVCD of home movies I created using DVD Moviefactory on my Pioneer 440 the farther into the disc I go the worse the audio sync is. It doesn't matter if I play to the end or jump straight to a spot past the half way point it still does it. If I use Power dvd on my PC it works fine. My source was a DV camcorder captured through videowave 4, I then used tmpgenc (latest version) and converted it using the NTSC SVCD template. I then imported that file into DVD Moviefactory and created the disc. I tried this awhile back using a analog capture and had the same problem. Anyone have any ideas or suffering the same problem? Thanks.

  2. No but I will. Thanks. It does say for files created using hardware encoding though. We'll see. Like I said the problem only occurs when playing on my standalone. Thanks again.

  3. Well I tried the patch but it didn't help at all. Does anyone else have a Pioneer 440 and Moviefactory?

  4. Are you using the DVD Movie Factory to write menus and then burn the disk? How long is the video file in question?

I suggest breaking it into three files (say, 5-10 minutes each) and then using DVD Movie Factory to put the files onto the disk. This might not eliminate the audio sync problem, but it might minimize it by "resetting" the sync at the beginning of each clip.

I got 440. Works ok but bitrate has to be less than 2400 or get all kinds of jerkyness or audio/video problems. I got ulead videostudio to make vcds and svcd to play just fine. only problem is that videostudio mpeg quality sucks so i use trmpenc and works better.

  6. Glad to hear you got it working. I also use TMPGenc for my encoding needs. It just does a better job than everybody else.

  7. All of my encoding was done in tmpgenc. All I was using Moviefactory for was to create menus and to burn. I didn't think I can use more than one mpeg video file in MF in a productionor or am I mistaken? I did use CBR of 2520. Do you think that's the problem? Like I said it plays fine using Powerdvd on the PC, it only gets out of sync when played on my Pioneer standalone.

  8. I'm fairly certain that you can use more than one MPEG-1 file on a VCD. I know I've placed three or four on a disk with DVD Movie Factory. Unless it combines them when it burns them (and I don't think it does).

    Good luck.
