  1. Can someone help me understand the "index" info in a cue file? After I've created cue/bin files (with DVD2SVCD), the cue file contains a series of 48 or 49 "index" points, at seemingly random times, up to 70 minutes. However, my bin files are never over 47 minutes. When I burn the cue/bin files, these index points are "chapters" on the svcd. And, the player time counter is continually off - one software player showed the SVCD at 70 minutes, another showed it at 35 minutes.

Do I need to go in and edit the cue file before burning? Where is the information coming from that's in the cue file?

Also, DVD2SVCD creates a file called "dvd2svcd chapters file.ini" that has correct chapter info (copied from the DVD), but this info doesn't get used when the bin/cue is burned. Am I doing something wrong?

  2. The (sub)index points refer to the position on the PHYSICAL disc.

As in, a point at say 56:45:40 refers to 56min 45sec and 40frames on the physical disc -- regardless of the actual data.

Don't edit any in the CUE file unless you want the chance of your disc screwing up.

As for the display times not coming out right, this is one of the well described problems with SVCD support in many players. If you search the forum on this phenomenon, you will find info on this and perhaps even some solutions.

    Regards.
