This drive will be used mostly for Vidcap, PVR, conversion, and DVD ripping.
I don't want to lose 40% (or more) of its space to clustersize loss.

What operating system?
Using NTFS in Windows NT/2000/XP you can specify things nicely.
In Win98 things can get ugly...Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin' -
I'm using 98se, fat32.
Mostly I want a compromise between lost space and being able to rip dvd's.
I've never done a rip but am under the impression it takes LOTS of HD space.
Right now I'm considering 4, 30 gig partitions. At 32 gig cluster size jumps again.
Also since this is a WD HD and they figure a meg as 1,000,000 bytes instead of 1,024,000 bytes it isn't what the rest of the industry would call truly a 120gig HD. Without doing the math I think it will be more like a 118gig (or less) HD when it comes to actual storage capacity.
