Everytime I try to burn a VCD/SVCD using VCDEasy, TSCV or CDRWin, my system gets a blue screen error and reboots. The error is so fast, I can't read it. I have no problems with Nero burning though, but I'm trying to burn an SVCD from a bin file and although Nero says it completes successfully, it doesn't play in my player. The disc just hangs. So, I'm guessing there's some wacky registry problem because all three of these other programs do the exact same thing when I try to burn from a bin file, blue screen and then reboot. Anybody have ANY suggestions?![]()

I got CDRWin to work.
What I did was uninstall all of my CD Recording software, I had a lot. Besides those three in topic title, I also had Nero and NTI. I ran Regcleaner afterward and deleted all reference to any of them plus other things that I figured I didn't need or never used (especially things to do with multimedia) . Ran the registry cleanup and rebooted. Then I installed CDRWin again and tried to make a CD from a bin I had and it worked. Although it's very simple, I think I'd still like Nero or something else that has a little more to it than that. Perhaps I'll try VCDEasy now. If that works, then I'll try Nero and hope that works. I may leave it at that for the time being.

It was probably the multiple CD burning proggies installed that screwed your system up...
Nero and CDRWin should definitely be able to co-exist peacefully. They don't really do anything that interfere with each other.
You should be able to install VCDEasy (i.e., burning with CDRDAO) with no problems either as it doesn't do anything that interferes with the above two.
Ditto for CloneCD.
With Nero, CDRWin, CDRDAO and CloneCD, you should have pretty much all your burning needs covered (except for perhaps packet writing but with HDD space being so cheap now, does anyone really need it and the aggravation?)

Well, I installed Nero and that was fine and then I installed VCDEasy and got the same problem, blue screen and reboot. Not sure what I'm going to do next. I need something that will create bin/cue files.

Try just installing the main VCD Easy proggy without CDRDAO. That is, VCDEasy minus the burning component.
You can still use VCDEasy as a GUI to VCDImager then.
Alternatively, you could try using VCDImager with another GUI (e.g., TSCV or VCD Composer) or using VCDImager by itself and manually authoring the XML files with a text editor: http://www.vcdimager.org/guides

Thanks. I tried to simply make a bin/cue file with VCDEasy and got the same problem. Would I have to uninstall the CDRDAO portion of it somehow? Well, I downloaded VCDGear and made a bin/cue file with that and I'm going to test it/try to burn it with CDRWin. I'll let you know how it goes and if it works for me. Thanks for all the advice.
