    Hi,

    I am running Win XP, 256MB ram, used latest Nero burning rom to burn an .avi file to cd r at 8x speed. the movie was running fine on HD but when played from CD the movie is choppy, frames are slow.....looks like i'm flipping through a comis book real quick!! instead of a movie.

    I greatly appreciate any advice as to how I can fix this file or how to avoid this error.

    Did you let Nero convert the avi to VCD MPEG? If you use the VCD guide you will get better results.

    i just burned it to cd like i would a .doc or .xl file,

    is it possible to salvage the movie from the cd, I've been reading about the problem yet cant find out whether i can save the movie already on disk...

    Looks like you can't get the data off the CD fast enough to view. Copy the file from the CD to the HD and play the AVI from the HD.
