  1. Is there any way to burn CDs with pictures which can be viewed on a Playstation? Some additional software? Some Software-Picture-Viewer for Playstation?

Has anyone at least ever heard of such a possibility?

    thx in advance

  2. Read about the player: http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDnameid=446&Search=Search&#comments

Sounds like you might need a $60 card to play movies and compatability is unsure. Better to by a Apex DVD player for about the same amount (Circuit City) that will play any disc.

There are many ways to make a picture disc - see http://www.vcdhelp.com/author.htm#photo

  3. I am looking for a SOFTWARE player. Any software which runs just like normal Playstation games, but shows the images I burn on the cd.

I burn a CD, with software and pictures, CD runs automatically on the PS and starts a slideshow. That can't be impossible, can it?

    But, thank's a lot anyway.

  4. Since this is a VCD/SVCD/DVD site maybe you should go to a Playstation Software site. 99.99% of us are making VideoCDs/DVDs for our DVD players.

The only way to do this would be to literally program your own playstation game. The stills would have to be stored as .str files and you would have to code it to either jump from one to another after a certain amount of time or you would have to program it to recognize the controller input. You would also need a modchip, boot disk, or game enhancer to load this disk. I really don't think this is a viable option.

As kitty mentioned there are hardware vcd adapters for the vcd. This is the ONLY way to play vcds on the psx. (well the original jap release supported vcds but good luck finding one of those.)

Short of programming your own psx game, what you ask cannot be done through software alone. You will need to buy an adapter
