  1. Hi,

I'm having trouble trying to burn a video with Nero 5.5.60. It keeps telling me that there is not enough space on this blank 80min disc for my 752MB VCD. I know I've burnt VCD's larger than this before.. it must be getting confused because the video is 92 minutes long. Is there any way to bring Nero back to its senses.. or should I use a different app to burn with?

    Thanks,

  2. How much space is required for the VCD header and misc junk that Nero adds to the image? Using that information I can figure out exactly how big my file can be.

    Thanks,

  3. Okay I kept making the MPEG file smaller and smaller.. finally when it was 701MB the file was able to burn on my 80min cd. The CD was completely full when I looked at it (you know how you can see the ring of unused space if it's not full?). This makes me think that Nero is making a standard data CD with all the error correction information instead of the special audio-style VCD. I must be using the wrong settings in Nero, but I am selecting VCD off the menu.

    Please help.

your best bet will be to use VCDeasy, and make an image, and then either burn image in Nero, or mount the image using daemon tools and do CD copy.
if you're only at 752MB, you can up your bitrate some and encode again if you wish, and you'll be able to increase the quality
what are you askin' me for...
    I'm an idiot!
