  1. I have mpg2 files I would like to record to vhs (dvd player is dead and i would like the movie for the weekend) I have my computer displaying on my television via sVideo out and the sound through my sound blaster. both the picture and sound are getting to the tv, but when I connect the tv to my vcr to record all i get is sound. I tested my vcr setup by recording some tv and it works fine. Why would i only get sound and no picture?

  4. Try using a Video composite lead instead of SVHS cable. An audio cable will do at a push as long as it has the phono ends, are you using a SVHS to scart converter,if so it has an option for composite,I think it's the yellow one. Also make sure the switch is set for input. you may have to tune in your VCR to the signal.

Try conecting the PC and VCR directly, I assume that the phono conectors mentined in the previous quote are RCA connectors, Yellow is usually the colour for Video (White is Left ch Audio and Red is Right ch Audio normally) If you are using a composite input no tuning is nessicary, Composity video is a base band signal and will be on a different input to the RF (antenna) input.
