    I friends,

I have an Svcd with 48.000hz audio and I need 44.100hz.

    How do i make it?

    Bye

  2. Hi

Try using BeSweet ( http://dspguru.doom9.net/ ) That seems that have a 44.100 hz option...Or if your ripping SVCD try DVD2AVI that has a force 44.100hz option..

    Good Luck

  3. The easiest way is to demultiplex the svcd with TMPGENC, go under file and then mpeg tools. Then use tmpgenc to convert THE AUDIO and then re-multiplex it with the other video file, take about 15 minutes for a 50 minute file.

Information like this is also availble in the "How To's" to the left of this message.

  4. When it comes to the actual conversion of the audio, I get the best results by using SSRC. It can be used with the BeSweet GUI.

ssrc.exe is very good for downsampling, its definitley the program of choice for this procedure. You can use it from the command promt or use BeSweet or TMPGenc as a gui.

Do NOT use TMPGEnc to downsample 48kHz to 44100Hz. TMPGenc's rate converter has a horrible bug which presents numerous artifacts into your audio stream, most notably what people refer to as the "metalic" sound.

  6. This may be nitpicking, but I wouldn't really say that TMPGEnc has a bug in its resampling routine. It's just that resampling is a very complex process that requires advanced filtering techniques to sound good, and TMPGEnc's way of doing it is simply too basic to achieve good results.

  7. must agree with everyone on this. tmpgenc's audio encoding and frequency conversion isn't that great. use toolame for audio enconding and ssrc for frequency conversion. it's a huge difference. try enconding one svcd using the two and not using the two and you'll see what's i'm talking about. if you're doing batch enconding, so nice in tmpgenc since you can just set this under enviornmental settings and set them as external plugins.

If I have an MPG2 file with video at 48khz, can I convert the audio to 44.1khz with BeSweet 1.3 so that the whole mpg2 file will be SVCD compliant ???

    Thanks

  9. yup, as long as the mpg file is 44 sampling rate and not 48, it's SVCD compliant. use something under 224kbs for audio. i just prefer ssrc and toolame, that's all

When I set Power Director to capture at video = 480x480 , audio = 224kbs, the captured video file end up being non compliant according to Nero when I try to burn it. If I do burn the video clip as it is , the audio is screwed up when I play the video clip back on my PC using PowerDVD or WinDVD.

    Help please.

    Thanks.

  14. How does VirtualDub's 48->44 conversion compare to SSRC? I used it for a Divx and it seemed fine.
