I've encoded a mpeg file from a divx file using Vdub and TMPGEnc, and when played on my computer, plays perfectly without a problem..
however, when I burn the movie using Nero, and try to play the VCD on my DVD player, I get weird playback...
it will play fine most of the time...but every now and then, the picture will just start lagging (very annoying after awhile).
I'm pretty sure it's not my DVD player, because I've played VCDs burnt by Ulead DVD Moviefactory without any problems.
I'm forced to use nero in this situation because it's the only program I know of that can burn NTSCFilm mpegs.

I'm burning the VCDs at 8x...can this be a problem?
And can somebody tell me of any other decent program that is capable of burning NTSCFilm movies besides VCDEasy (it refuses to work on my computer no matter what I do)

    Thanx in advance.

What DVD player are you using? Did you encode your mpgs in NTSCFilm format?

I'm using an Omni DVD player, but I dont think the DVD player is an issue because it plays VCDs burnt with other programs without a problem (both NTSC and PAL formats).

And yep, I've encoded the mpegs using the NTSCFilm template.

I have 3 Apex DVD players... they will play movies fine but if they are encoded in NTSCFilm format the sound and video will speed up and slow down.. so I just encode everything that is NTSCFilm to NTSC instead and all of the movies play fine... it might not be the prob but it's worth a try
