Download a copy of Feurio - www.feurio.de
Feurio will allow you to do a 'test' overburn to see how much that particular blank will hold, without actually burning. Nero may also be able to do this now, I'm not sure.
To overburn in Nero, there is a setting under 'Preferences' or 'Options' (sorry, don't have Nero in front of me right now), that allows you to specify a burn length - after you know what your blank can hold, set the burn length to somewhere around the disc's overburn capacity. -
With Nero and overburn selected, I was able to burn an 815 MB SVCD onto a 700 MB cd with no problems. Give it a try.

You should also note in data mode 2 a 700mb cd is 800 megs, so that is 15 megs extra. I can burn about 82 minutes to minute 80 cds.

In "Program Files\Nero\Nero Toolkit" there is a file called CDSpeed.EXE that will allow you to test the overburning capability of your CD. I overburn music CDs all the time. Just remember this - overburning is placing data in areas that some players or readers may NOT be able to access / play (ie, in "non-standard" areas). Also, this overburning capability can very from lot to lot with any particular manufacturer.
