  1. Hi,

Could anyone tell me what frame rate I should set my video capture for MPEG2 for the best quality capture but still maintaining a reasonable file size?

My video capture software can capture from 1.00 f/s up to 15.00 f/s.

    If I set it at 15.00 f/s I can capture a 116mb file / minute.
    If I set it at 5.00 f/s I can capture a 40mb file / minute.

The quality between both looks the same.

That doesn't sound quite right to me.
    If I set it at 15.00 f/s I can capture a 116mb file / minute.
    If I set it at 5.00 f/s I can capture a 40mb file / minute.
My MPEG 2 files run around 40-45 MB /min and are 25FPS (PAL)
what exactly are you using to capture? hardware and software?
apart from the size discrepancy - OMG how can you bear to capture something as low as 5fps unless it's a video survaillance app?
