Don't use your antenna cable to capture from your card. Use your AV inputs. The Antenna on most capture cards produces bad signal and you might have to boost input. But you get amore acceptable signal if you use either composite or s-vhs

No, misunderstanding!
I actually don't have a tv-decoder-card. It's just a graphics board with a composite-in av-plug. And this is connected to the videorecorder's av-out (scart).
I get those different recordings when plugging or unplugging the antenna into the VIDEORECORDER, although I'm only grabbing the vhs tape, not the actual tv programme...
