  1. Hi

followed the newbie instructions, burnt cd successfully -- but it doesn't play on DVD player. It's a Hitachi P315E (not listed on this site) and normal CDRs, silver.

Anyone know what I might try? Is there, perhaps a way of testing the VCD file on the computer?

    thanks

  2. Maybe your player doesn't support cdr's? Did you try a CD-RW?

  4. hey thanks guys, but I didn't give enough details.

I'm converting a divX file to VCD format, as per the newbie instructions here, then trying to play it on the Hitachi standalone player. There is one listed on this site, which gets a very poor rating. Maybe I should try a different media? Any suggestions?

    thanks for your help

Have you tried PrimePeripherals Cd-r's? Found at Circuit City ... i find them almost universal ... unfortunately i hear from the one of the Circuit city employees that they are discontinueing them.

    p.s.
    they are labeled
Digital Media ...PrimePeripherals is the parent copy i guess
