  1. Ok I am a newbie to this but I hope to be a valuable member of the forum as I am determined to understand this DVD Thing.

But my question is this....can I put menus onto a SVCD?? If so does anyone know how, I want an interactive piece that can work on most home players.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

  2. thanks for the link. I looked at a bunch of those, I tried TSCV but my layers are not right and when I boot it up it says I'm missing a bunch of stuff that I have never heard of. I thought maybe winoncd, but I couldn't read the german, I looked all through Nero but could'nt find anything about menus.. I will keep looking but if anyone has more info about this It would be great.

Is there a book or anything about how menus on Svcd and DVD work? I just want to personalize the stuff like make a guitar button for a song and a camera button for the movie, you know like you would do in director or something..

thanks again, these forums are invaluble to the newbie like myself!!

As far as I know of, you need for TSCV - VCDeasy - VCDwizard - and most other Gui's at least "VCDimager's VCDxBuild version 7.10 or better" and a cue/bin writer (cdrDao v. 1.1.5 is the best, but it seems Nero can do the job as well - but stinks more.. !)

Ulead DVD Movie Factory is the newby's best bet for creating menus. Very stable compared to those mentioned, but doesn't do "true" chapters. They have a free trial, plus there is a way to extend the trial time indefinitely.

  5. Use Powerdirector Pro v2.0 from www.cyberlink.com
You could download the trial version, the only different is that
you could do anything same as full version but its limit burn to cd is 5 minutes after you burnt your cd.
Load image from avi file and produce the movie then click on disc wizard
and it walks you thru how to add chapters, menu to cd. You preview it.
If you like it after the result you could buy it for only 119.00

  6. For whatever reason Ulead always crashes, could be the outdated Motherboard, 66 bus and the 475 and k6-2....I know I need to upgrade, but I know exactly what I am going to need for future projects and I'm working on the cash part. I will try that cyberlink one though that sounds simple enough, and it automaticly converts the avi to mpg?
