I'm looking to buy a new DVD player soon and was leaning towards the Apex AD-1600. I like it cause it's under $100 and plays DVD, VCD, SVCD, MP3, WMA, JPEG, etc. The only bummer is they don't say if its firmware upgradable or not. I emailed them but their response was that they didn't know. Does anyone know?
Is there another sub-$100 DVD player thats better?
I wish there was a way to play Divx avi's or MPEG4 files on a DVD player!
Thanks for any help!

yes, Daewoo 5700 or 5800, it runs circles around any Apex player and they are only $89, plus I can Burn an non compliant SVCD at 704x480 at 5000 bitrate and it plays perfect on the Daewoo while it chokes on any Apex player, it also has better analog to digital chips in it that the Apex also. Less sync problems also, got my 5800 at my Local Sams club, plus the hack to turn off macrovision is easy also.
