  1. Sorry that I have to plague you all with my troubles but I seem unable to find a solution for this:

With *some* movies I get strange results in TMPEnc (although with others it works perfectly fine). The result is a movie about 4.5 times the length of the original (in this case 3.5 GB). I can open it in a player and it plays normally (although without audio) to the end and afterwards it keeps showing the last frame for about 3 hours more.

I used the Pinoy template for VCD Pal as that worked best for me so far. I also tried the regular VCD PAL template and to tweak around the settings (but I didnt really know what I had to look for) with the same result.

    The file info tells me it's DIVXMPG4 V3, 512x384 pixels, 29,97 frames/sec.

Does anyone know how to tune the settings in TMPEnc to get this converted to VCD correctly?

  2. if you are making a vcd you have to make the resolution 352x240 (since the video is 29.97 fps, it is an ntsc vcd)... try that and see if that makes a difference...

try extracting the wav in virtualdub, and using that as your audio source.
something else you can do is under settings, advanced, double click the source range tab, and use that to set your first frame as start and end a couple of frames before the end as stop. or, try frameserving the video into TMPG with avisynth. maybe also try increasing the priority of the direct show reader to the highest under options->environmental settings-
->vfapi plugin(I'm not sure this last one will help)
