  1. I have both tracks loaded in AVStoDVD, but I was never asked to configure an audio selection menu to select which audio track to use, and I don't see one in the preview menu or when I do a test convert and load the DVD folder in Potplayer. In fact, as far as Potplayer is concerned the video has only one audio stream. What's going on? Is there some special step I missed? Also, I saw no subtitle select menu either. Even though there is only one subtitle track, I was hoping I could choose whether or not to display subs through the DVD menu regardless.

A2d does not offer a method of audio control via the menu. It does, however, create the VOB files with the extra tracks and it
can be confirmed by opening the vob in mediainfo.

The track to be played can be selected in the player

In general, for sources with 2 or 3 audio tracks, it's probably better to set A2d preferences/audio/ffmpeg(safemode)

  3. You can use a software named Titlewriter .
It does not encode & only creates a menu.
It can remove a menu already in the video.
I usually work with a movie ripped as Main movie with no menu.
I also do a simple text menu but Titlewriter can create a more complex menu.
It has a good Help web page for guiding you.

The movie I used for the pictures of the menu.
    The menu audio track selection:
    Worked in MPC-BE & MPC-HC & DVDFAB player& Zoom player.
It did not work in VLC but I have had other movie menus work in VLC for the audio selection.

These are pictures of the menu I created.

Is it possible to apply that menu to a DVD, or will Titlewriter only create menus for whole videos in containers? Can it edit existing DVD menus without removing them? Perhaps I can start using DVDFlick again, I only stopped because it lists all audio and subtitle tracks not by title, but by language. I also like to include a 2.0 track and a 5.1 track, I even made a special script that downmixes better than a typical speaker setup would, I included LFE and rear speakers for example, and audio for all channels is at 100% but if I can use a program to edit an existing DVD menu, perhaps I can simply rename the menu? So instead of:

    Select Audio Track

    English
    English

    I could have:

    Select Audio Track

    English 2.0
    English 5.1

And a similar change to the subtitle menu:

    Select Subtitle Track

    English
    English (Text/Signs)
    Disable Subtitles

  5. On a DVD disc the data for the menu would already be burned or written. So that can not be changed.
Titlewriter has to have a VIDEO_TS folder on a computer
You can delete the titlewriter folder after you save the menu created.
I don't know if Titlewriter can edit existing DVD menus. If it can the DVD would still need to be ripped to a computer.
I will have to give that a try.
    That's why I posted a picture.
The Setup screen shows how Titlewriter displsys the Subtitle & audio tracks.
Titlewriter does not have the ability to edit those.

That's what I meant, if it could edit a VIDEO_TS folder on a PC, of course discs are readonly. Still, I feel like we might be onto something here, surprisingly DVDFlick is the only DVD authoring tool I have seen that has a reasonably fast and straightforward interface, allowing configuration in only a minute or two in most cases. But it lacks this one very specific feature, editing a menu generated by DVDFlick (renaming menu entries) might be the only way to do this properly.

  8. @ geek gift,
This is the way I do it. Whether an "Expert" would do it the same way I do not know.
Also the "Help" pulldown/TitleWriter Help" links to webpage. It is a fairly complete guide.

    1.Open Video_TS folder
2.If the video you are working on has a menu.
Use the DVD Menus pulldown & "Remove all menus from compilation"
3.Leave all unchecked except "Start Play with Root Menu in Vts_01"
    "Save Change" & OK
    4.Select "Make Menu"
    5. I created a small all black .jpg for all the images with Irfanview
    Put this for all images.
    Select "Apply to all thumbnails"
    6.Select "Advanced DVD Menu 0ptions"
    Set up as picture.
    7.Select "Return To Thumbnail View"
8.Select "Apply To All Movies" button & both "App|y To All Thumbnails" buttons.
9 Select "Preview" button & go through all the selection one at a time.
10.Select "Create Menu And Add lt" button
    11. Test video in media player.
12.Delete Titlewriter folder if the video works correctly.

This is how I set up the "Advanced DVD Menu 0ptions"

ok i may have to sit this round out.

since i already have a video_ts. guess i should jump from step 1 to step 4.

but when i click on dvd menus. i don't even see the "make menu" option.

so everything after that, is a no too.

oh well i'm not really a menu person anyway.

hmm nope. make menu and create movie menu are both grayed out for me. maybe it doesn't like the files created by muxman.

  13. @ geek gift,
The video I'm posting was created by AVStoDVD.
Muxman is part of the process AVStoDVD uses to create a DVD.
I did not create a Menu for it with AVStoDVD or Titlewriter.
It opened fine in Titlewriter with make menu and create movie menu delectable.
Download it & see if it will work with your OS & Titlewriter.

This indicates there is a problem with your video.

Or if your video has a menu the make menu and create movie menu will be grayed out.
Use the "Remove all menus from compilation" in the DVD Menus drop down to remove any menus.

You can test making a menu for the video I posted.
