  1. This was apparently a satellite feed to broadcast the Queen's Christmas message in 1987 that was then recorded to U-Matic and there's some pretty severe chroma flicker as can be seen in the attached sample. Wondering if there's a script that could improve the chroma flicker and if there's a more technical name for this phenomenon?

  2. No clue what it's called, seems like a transmission problem to me. (got no experience on the capture side, so more a wild guess)
SpotLess with a (insanely) high temporal radius seems to help since there isn't any sudden motion in it. (when applied on a longer clip, limitting this to chroma only, and scene-by-scene might be good idea)

  3. It is breakthrough from a different TV signal. As it originates from satellite it is probably caused by misalignment of the dish polarization allowing some of the channel on adjacent frequency to mix withe desired one. Analog channels overlap each other to save band space but alternate between horizontal and vertical polarization. A well adjusted dish will almost eliminate the opposite polarization so the channels appear to have gaps between them. In this case the dish (LNB) skew wasn't optimal.

It is in the recording, the best you can do is try to hide it.

    Brian.
