  1. I can't figure out how to switch to a 30fps stream on some Youtube videos. If it has a 60fps stream - that's the only one I'm seeing in the "h" menu (i forget what it's called), even though, other Youtube related tools show that a 30fps stream exists (and mpc-hc+yt-dlp can even play the same video at 30fps). So, am I just dumb and not seeing something or do I need to toggle some setting, or is it just how PotPlayer is and you only get the higher frame rate option?

  2. You mean you see 60fps as absolutely the only option available, even for 480p, 360p etc.? Or you only see the resolutions that normally come with 60fps (720p, 1080p) while 480p and less is not there at all? Or you expect that you should be able to choose an HD resolution with a different frame rate than the one it originally comes with?

I remember there were a few times in the past where I could switch to an HD stream with 30fps even though the video was in 60fps. But apparently it's a rare occurrence. Perhaps some YouTube videos are like that or PotPlayer was at one time able to convert 60fps into a lower frame rate. Either way, it is common and normal that a video uploaded at 60fps can only be played back at 60fps unless you choose a lower-than-HD quality.

But I do wish it was possible to get rid of the 60fps frame rate which YouTube abounds in nowadays. This crap strains resources, causes lags, heats up my machine, and is completely unnecessary in most cases, especially when you're watching a still image with no motion. I wish creators would be more thoughtful in their choice of render settings instead of always going for the highest. They would also save themselves the time it takes to render the whole thing out.
