    Mac newbie here.

Is there a simple video editing program for the Mac similar to TMPGenc Smart Renderer or VideoRedo that will let you edit out snippets of a video clip and then recode only those edit points while NOT recoding the rest of the video? I've tried Avidemux but it corrupts those edit points to where Toast DVD only sees a green screen with audio (and the resulting Blu-Ray disc is also nothing but a green screen with audio).

    Any other suggestions? Thanks.

If you have access to an older OS (Mojave or prior), MPEGSTreamclip would be the tool to test to see if it does what you want it to do. You can trim with this tool (front end or back end) or you can cut parts out while keeping the rest of the file or cut parts and export those parts on their own. But this program only works with HD MP4 or MPEG2 (MPG or VOB).
