  1. ok, I was told that the file size does'nt matter as long as the lenght is under 80min, right? ok well I have a 710MB mpeg file thats 41minutes long. when I load the file into Nero and try to burn it, it gives me an error message that says:' CD does not have enough free space'. once, I was browsing through these forums and read something about 'OverBurning' a CD. is this what I need to do? if it is, then how would I do it?

    thanx in advance

    Actually, it went a little more like this:

    If you have encoded EXACTLY to VCD standards, you can fit approx 76 minutes on 1 disc. If it is to spec's pay no attention to the file size. Again, I must stress, if it is to specification.

    ntsc = 1150 kbps cbr mpg 1 vid X 224 kbps mp1 layer 2 audio stereo

    If your file is 41minutes long, but 710MB, it is not VCD-compliant. The VCD spec is the 1150+224 video+audio as listed above.
    As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

    are you trying to burn it as data, or as a VCD/SVCD?
    you have to burn it as VCD/SVCD, that way you are burning in mode2 and not mode1(search for these for explanations)

    If you are burning as xvcd be sure to multiplex it first with tmpgenc(under File->tools> using the setting Video cd(non standard).

    thanx
