    my mpg's audio stream only plays on the right speaker... any way to edit the audio stream to play through both speakers? (and it's not a speaker problem - other mpgs play fine)

    I think the best thing to do would be to convert the single track to 2 single (mono) tracks. Checkout the audio tools selection at http://www.download.com - I'm sure you'll find something useful there.

    Just checked TMPGEnc. I don't know if this would work, but you may as well try it out, by selecting "mono" in the settings tab when just encoding the audio part of your mpg
