  1. I used a res of 480 x 480, 2520 bitrate, 112 VBV buffer, and Automatic VBR(CQ_VBR) with a quality of 80/100. The movie is gladiator, and is very good quality because I like having it on 3 discs, but every other half second or so I see these green, transparent blocks that seem to appear in the same spots. Does anyone know how to get rid of these? Or does anyone know if there is a better process for making svcd? I'm not too sure about that VBR(CQ_VBR)....

  2. Green blocks are in 99.9% of all reasons, the case of BAD ripping! a VOB file that was decoded badly, for whatever reason (bad ASPI for example).

  3. I have had the same green squares on my own produced VCD.

The first reason I have come up with is poor quality media. I used the exact same CUE/BIN files on two brands of CD-R and CD-RW and one worked and the other didn't.

Secondly, I have had major problems with the output CUE/BIN files from TSCV. Once I shifted to VCDEasy, using the same source files, I had good VCDs.

Just my thought from my experience.

  4. If the problem with the green squares has to do with ripping, what is the best way to rip a dvd? I've been using the smartripper section from your guide...

  5. Well, the first thing you gotta do is check the ASPI Layer in your Windows, as XP doesn't come with one that is compatible with most rippers and you must download and install v4.6 Build 1021, and then try to use any ripper you want your best option would be CladDVD XP.
