Some codec when transfering AVCHD video files into computer fom much smooth editing in Pemiere or Vegas?

	visually lossless - cineform, dnxhd, hqx, prores (faster on a mac if using adobe). Cineform is probably the "best" overall for speed/quality on a PC . daniel2 in newer premiere versions if you have a good GPU is probably the fastest

 (but "lossless" yuv codecs are converted to RGB in vegas and premiere, so they aren't truly "lossless" . The exception is x264 lossless in newer premiere versions, but the scrubbing "performance" of I-frame , tune fast decode isn't very good)
 
 alternatively, you can look at proxy editing workflows. Basically you edit a smaller resolution version, swap back on final render.
