  1. When I burn a svcd using VCDeasy, the log message indicates that Burn Proof is being turned ON. How do I set VCDeasy so that Burn Proof will stay off?

    thanks

  3. I thought that burn proof might be causing incompatiblity problems with another cd recorder on another pc, and so I wanted to make sure that the svcd didn't contain any burn proofing.

Also I thought the problem might be with over burning, so I made the mpeg smaller and disabled over burn and the other recorder was able to read the svcd.

However I would still like the option of disabling burn proof.

  4. Just FYI - burnproof doesn't change the data written to the disc, it provides a way for the recorder to recover from a buffer underrun, which is good. If the issue is trying to read the disc in another drive, having burnproof on during recording isn't going to make any difference.

  5. Someone will tell me if I'm wrong (as well they should), but buffer-underrun (unintentionally making "coasters") prevention schemes (i.e. Burn-Proof, SeamlessLink, etc.) are only active during the burning process. To oversimplify things, they slow down the burn temporarily, when they detect that the write buffer is running out of data, and give the buffer a chance to fill up a bit before speeding up the burn again, thus going a long way toward helping to ensure a good error-free burn.

I don't believe that there is any indication (which another playback drive could detect) that buffer-underrun protection was active during the burning process.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."
