To say I am new to this is an understatement! I've been working with Photoshop for years but am now trying to venture into video. Right now I am simply doing it because I have 2 kids that want to make their own movies. So here goes with my first question/issue. When I save my clips onto my computer I end up with an MPEG that plays audio only. What do I need to do to fix this issue? Below is a list of what equipment and programs I am using. I'm sure this is not the first time this has been asked so if someone could direct me to an appropriate thread that's cool. Thanks!

    Camera Nikon D7000 1280x720p 24fps
    Premiere Elements 12

The Nikon D7000 produces h.264 video files in an MOV container. How are you getting MPEG? Are you trying to convert the clips before editing or are you doing a direct copy to your computer? What are your Premiere project settings? What playback format do you want to end up with (like digital HD stream, Blu-ray, DVD, youtube, etc.)?

I'll bet there is probably a youtube tutorial on what you need to do.

  3. Quicktime is officially discontinued on Windows, but installing it will usually enable MOV importing in older versions of editing programs
