    This had never happened to me before. Upon loading a dvd movie on my dvd rom, I'll just launch the windvd and the movie will play. After I started installing Tmpg enc, dvd2avi and vob2audio and using it to successfully rip my own dvd movies then I encountered this problem. Even windows media player (version 8) won't even play my dvd movies. I once saw a dialogue box that popped out after the problem occured and I just remember seeing something like: 0x0000000 or something like that. Windvd and power dvd also won't play any original dvd movie that I have. How do I solve this type of problem???

    Have you tried uninstalling+reinstalling the DVD player?

    I have the same sort of problem. I have a toshiba combo drive, which came with windvd program. i can't get it to play a proper dvd, but it will play vcd. I have tried reinstalling but it's still the same. hope we can get a clue as to what may be wrong.
