  1. Trying to open a cue file to burn image w/ Nero. When I select file, I get a "Cannot open the File" Message. Click "oK". Then I get "An error occured while loading the cue sheet file. Message. I'm at a loss. Nero has no help on why the error message. Thought I would give the forum a try. Anybody have any suggestions why this is happening. I've tried this method too: http://www.vcdhelp.com/nerobin.htm
But still no luck. Here is the link I got the Cue. from:
    http://www.edkguide.com/cuefiles/Monsters%20Inc%20DVDSCREENER%20ws%20SVCD1-fastempire....kGuide.com.cue

    Thank you great people

you have to make sure the file name of the bin matches exactly with the file name inside the cue sheet if it doesnt cange the file name of the bin to match the cue

  3. an easier way to do it is to open the cue file in notepad.. you should see where it says "c:\whatever\whatever.bin".. just change it to "whatever.bin"

p.s. - whatever= the actual name of the bin file

  4. Interesting problem here for all you NERO lovers: I recently started using NERO - tried burning a BIN files (spent 2 years using CDRWin very successfully) and it came up with an error message: "The media is not recordable" then asked whether I wanted to erase the media (it was a CD-RW) to which I clicked "OK" and then tried to burn again. Same result. I tried this for several types of CD-RW.No luck.

I have NERO 5578. Plextor 24/10, AMD AthlonXP2000, WinXP Pro.

  5. if you know what MODE the BIN is going to be burned then just double click the BIN,
if you don't open the CUE sheet with notepad and edit the target or check the MODE

  6. in Nero you do go
    FILE-----BURN IMAGE----
then load up the cue sheet right?

  7. Yes- I use File->Burn Image then choose the CUE sheet (created using VCDImagerGUI) and proceed to burn. The process initialises then I get the error message about "Media is not recordable"

  8. The names of the BIN & CUE files were the same. I even tried to rename them for shorter file names, but no luck. Maybe I'll have to uninstall Nero & Re-load on PC. As far as I know, I'm doing everything correct. Even had a friend send his cue that works.

Thanks again for you suggestion :-)

Maybe the bin file is corrupt. If you downloaded it thats a definite possiblity. Try using binchuncker or CDMage to check it and possibly correct any errors. Also try using vcdgear to extract the mpg file and then you can re-author it yourself.

  10. You might be right about the corruption,
Where can I get Binchunker or CDMage?

  12. you can extract with cd mage, then rename the .dat file to mpg extension, check to see if it plays in media player, if so drag n drop to nero and all should be well.

  13. A CUE/BIN image of a VCD may have MUCH more than just the main movie. If you go extracting things out of it, you will loose the menus and any chapters. Extracting things from a CUE/BIN image should be a last resort and indeed, you should never have to do this to burn a VCD.

You can burn CUE/BIN images in many programs:
    http://www.vcdimager.org/guides/burning_cuebin_images.html

The newest versions Nero can even burn CUE/BIN images now (properly) but the older versions had a problem.

  14. I downloaded CDRWin and get to the point of Load Cuesheet... When I load the cuesheet I get "Error Invaid CUE SHEET command at line 1 unable to find or open file" I can open the Cue. in notepad. Have tried to rename file location. Have redownloaded the Cue file and had a friend send me his working cue. Still no luck opening the Cue File in CDRWin.
The name is the same as the BIN file. This is correct, I'm supposed to have the same name??

The problem has to be in the file name. Maybe I'm not labeling it correctly.

Anyone else have another suggestion or input would be appreciated.

    Thank you,
    LAne

  15. for cdrwin, make sure there is no path statement and that the bin file is in the same directory as the cue sheet, so all you should see is

    FILE "MOVIE.BIN" BINARY

    and not

    FILE "C:\PROGRAMS\CDRWIN\MOVIE.BIN" BINARY

this is the most common reason why CDRwin give you invalid cue sheet errors.

Just get rid of Nero AND WinCDR ! The both sucks

You'll better off using CDRdao. It's advanced (not simple; unless you know something about pc's), complete and it's FREE.
CDRdao can handle ALL in the cue-file, it just expects that the bin-file has the same filename as the cue-file and is located in the same directory as the cue-file (actualy it ignores the bin-file indicated at the first line of the cue-sheet).

...Unless you're like me, and CDRDAO won't work... I've never been able to get it to work... I use CDRWin...

we can agree on this one... DON'T USE NERO!

  18. Nero rocks! Been using it for years for pretty much all my burning duties, including cue/bin files, ( though I weas using cdrwin up to 5.5.3.5 build of Nero ).

  19. Does the case of the filename of the BIN file have to match that of the one inside the cue file?

sorry to bring this old post back, but i can't get cdrwin 5.0 to burn bin/cue image. And when i burn it with nero, it loads, but the cd seems messed up (the image is supposed to be a vcd, but after burning it w/ nero 5.5.7.8... my comp recognize the cd as an audio cd)...

and I don't want to convert the bin/cue to mpg then burn with nero (that would take so much longer than burning directly from bin/cue files), because i don't wanna lose the menu.

    can someone offer a solution?

If you can't get CDRdao to work, it most-likely is the case that you didn't install ASPI correct. If you did, check the location of your cdrw with the command cdrdao scanbus. It then will tell you which id's to use for the device. Be sure the write-speed isn't set too high (mine can write at 16x but only at 8x I can write a VCD completely without buffer-underruns).
