I use servio on my pc & LG TV, however i have just moved to windows 8.1, on some video files when you right click you get a menu which has a "Play to" option the options are 1/. The LGtv.& 2/. The xbox 360. It does not happen on all files & it does not appear to be a file type problem? How can I get it to apply to all video files?

Thought I had serviio working properly! But I had two other drives that although I had added the paths to the servio console they did not show up on the tv side. However some of those I could right click & use the "play to" menu. The rest I had to copy to usb stick to watch on TV. Last night I made some symlinks to those two drives & the video folder hat works properly in serviio, now everything shows up & plays fine on TV side.

Windows "Play to" feature doesn't support certain containers or codes ... if media player cannot play the type of file in question then the "Play to" feature will not show when right clicking on the file.

Where "play to" isn't used windows 8 doesn't bother checking if the device being streamed to supports the file type being sent ... it just sends it and be damned. Then the user ends up here or on other forums asking why ?

serviio is your best choice to bypass this limitation.
