  1. I need help with resolving an issue when attempting to capture with Virtual Dub. I have MMC 7.6 installed on a PIII 735Mhz Intel. I was able to capture with Virtual Dub when I used MMC 6.13 and MMC 7.2 but after loading up MMC 7.5 and then to MMC 7.6 I have not been able to capture with Virtual Dub. When I attempt to capture an error pops up stating that " the capture device is in use by another program such as Web T.V. or some other program, I am using the AIW Pro 8MB original from 1997. It is has the BT829 capture drivers. Virtual Dub captured before with this driver before loading up MMC 7.5-MMC 7.6. I have reloaded Virtual Dub and still could not capture. I am using Windows XP Home Edition. In the same vein, I can still capture with Windows Movie Maker no problem and I can capture with another device called AMCAP Direct Show capture. Why can I not capture with Virtual Dub 1.9 Now. Surely someone has a soulution. Please Help.

  2. I believe VirtualDub needs to capture using the VFW (Video for Windows) protocol. WinXP uses the WDM (Windows Device Manager) protocol. There is a wrapper of sorts floating around; you can probably find it using Google or the like. Search for "vfw to wdm wrapper" or something similar.

iuVCR uses WDM to capture video. You might want to check it out.
