Hi - Newbie here, so please forgive ignorance.

I'm attempting to use VCDEasy to add chapters and burn etc. I've downloaded the latest edition 1.0.9, but when attempting to use it, it complains that there is no writer or ASPI problem. I've downloaded the latest ASPI drivers and installed(On Windows XP) and the aspichk program reveals the following:

    LOG0143: ************************************************** ***************
LOG0144: Starting ASPICHK installer on Sun Apr 07 12:01:32 2002

LOG0218: Closing installer log on Sun Apr 07 12:01:33 2002

Can anyone tell me how to remedy this issue and/or get VCDEasy working?

    Thanks

    Dave

  2. Interesting Problem!
The error report indicates that you have different versions of wowpost.exe and wnaspi.sys in both
    c:\windows\system32, and
    c:\windows\system
You are running XP but I'll bet you upgraded from Windows 98. To fix try
    1. copy the files from c:\windows\system to a backup folder of your choice (just in case the next step cuases problem)
    2. delete the files (from system folder NOT system32). You may need to boot using a boot floppy disk into the command prompt if you get and error like 'file in use'

The above should work as Windows XP almost exclusively uses the system32 folder. You can also try reinstall the aspi driver after the above delete.

    Hope this fixes your problem.

Simple problem, simple solution - even for XP !

Just get ASPI 4.60 (not the current aspi, which is 4.70).
Somewhere at the Net, you should find yourself AspiW2k. This will force to install ASPI onto w2k/XP systems. Afterwards do a reboot and you're set.

For test and verification, goto the directory where you've CDRdao 1.1.5 installed and type cdrdao scanbus.
If ASPI was successfully installed, cdrdao should return a list of all scsi- and ATAPI devices it can find (all cdr/cdrw/dvd/dvdrw).
