  1. I have a linksys wrt54g v2 router. I want to upgrade to a ea4500 linksys. I am hard wired to my desktop & wireless for laptop & every now and then for the netflix on my tv. My question is will the newer one be faster for both or just the wireless?

Whether it is FASTER depends NOT ONLY on the router device, but on the devices attached to it AS WELL. It has Gigabit Ethernet (up to 1000Mbps) and 802.11N wireless. Like most Wireless N routers, it should have fallback to G, B & A, just like Gigabit Ethernet has fallback to 100 and 10.

So, if all your devices are 100Mbps wired and Wireless G, then it won't be any faster AT ALL. If, however, some devices have better specs than that (whether wired or wireless), the new device will allow THOSE devices to take advantage of the speed boost.

Remember, of course, that overall speed is governed most by the WEAKEST LINK, which usually is your Internet connection.
