Need help with SD card formatting software.

Hi everyone, I soon will be purchasing a Dash cam for my car that uses SD cards.

From what i read, the- https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/ is the best formatting method to use.

So here is my question.

Has anyone actually gotten the software to open up after downloading it? It downloads as a zip file and I cannot figure out how to open it up. There is no directions about needing to purchase the software, and no other user on any forum had had a problem opening it up after downloading it.

I downloaded the PDF user manual and it simply states to "execute the SD formatter installation program which you downloaded from the SDA website".

I feel 'tupid asking this question, but thats what this forum is here for, so I gotta ask, or i will be stuck formatting the SD card with my PC, which I don't want to do.

I enclosed a screenshot of the file just prior to downloading it in case it may help anyone.

Since you are using windows 7 just extract the files to a folder,you don't need any other software to do that since windows 7 has a built in zip extractor.
