good day
over the last few days i have been trying to change avi videos into a different codec
i have 3 that work on the device that i have and i have used gspot to look into the videos so i can see what codec they use, so i downloaded virtualdub and selected xvid and followed a guide about how to do it but still the video wont play on the device
i'm not sure if it is only the video and audio codec that is important or is it also the resolution of the video as i noticed that the videos that work are *x352 so i made the res also *x352 but still they wont play.
until i found another guide that was pointing out that frame rate is also important.
please can someone help me
maybe later i can post the gspot info's

Many devices that play "avi" files, like some DVD players, are restricted to SD, so will be limited to 720*576.
Your second unplayable file is 1024*574.

I've heard it prefers MP4 video. Use Video to Video converter, load in a video and when the window pops up to choose a profile, click on 'Sony' and then select 'Sony PSP MPEG-4 Video'. Edit the profile settings in the boxes on the right if you want to. If that works...great...if not try one of the other settings.

This converter also has a lot of generic AVI profiles to experiment with.

Tip: use a clip or VERY short movie as a test file, else you could be waiting a while. Last edited by transporterfan; 25th Apr 2013 at 15:55.
