My camera films in 4:3, but I have an intro that I would like to use that is 16:9. Is there a way to upload these to YouTube so that the intro fills up the screen naturally, and then the main video comes along, with black bars on the side? I searched around, but I can't seem to find any way to do this. I would prefer to not have the intro in 4:3 because it cuts off the sides of it and somewhat diminishes the looks of it. Thanks.

You have to join the intro and the main video together before uploading to YT, so they have the same dimensions
You just edit in a 16:9 timeline in a video editor (e.g. sony vegas , premiere pro) to join the intro to the pillarboxed 4:3 content . If it's a one shot deal, you can just use the free trials. There are other methods as well e.g. avisynth, but less user friendly to use
