  1. hi im new here and i just had a question. My bluray player broke and i wanted to watch some of my movies so i asked my friend what i should do. He told me i should rip them but i didnt know what to do so he did it for me. i watched them on my computer and they were flawless. I decided to burn the BDrips to a regular dvd. When i play the dvd the images are high def but quick movements become blurs. If someone on the screen moved fast it would become all blurry. But when fast things arent happening and its simply someone talking it is clear. Is there anyway to stop the blurriness at fast moving scenes or is that just a bi product of putting a BDrip onto a normal dvd?

The movies were encoded using too low of a bitrate, that's why you see blurry moving scenes, kinda like a mosquito effect, depends on how much running time and encoding process you or your friend used.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

You say your video on the dvd is high def, so apparently you are making a BD-5 or AVCHD disc instead of converting to dvd-video.

I would use BD Rebuilder for this particular type of conversion. Don't try to save the menu or extras...do a main movie only backup. I would also use AC3 audio at a relatively small bitrate, like 192kbs, in order to save as much room as possible for the video on your target, single layer dvd.

  8. here you go guys i asked my friend and he said he made the file a lot smaller so it would fit on my computer and not take up room. They like i said are still great quality on the computer but once they are burned onto the dvd that blurry crap happens. I realized u could upload onto this site but i still decided to use mediafire. the link will take you guys to the mediainfo document. here it is http://www.mediafire.com/view/?696bn9jo9yyv0kd

How are you watching the movies after you burn them since your blu-ray player went faulty?

So, this file is NOT a straight Blu ray rip (unconverted and uncompressed). You have an mp4 file that is massively compressed to begin with, being only 1gb in size. If you have converted this yet another time, to go to dvd-video, then you have degraded it even further. Or do you have a player of some type that will accept mp4 files?

johns0's question on where you are trying to play this is an important one.

There are several options. Wait until the movie is available at Redbox and rent the dvd for a buck. It'll be better than trying to work with that file you have now to convert to dvd-video.

Or get a media player that can handle mp4 files. Or stream the video from your computer to the tv.

Or forget entirely about working with the current file and go from the original blu ray. Rip the main movie to the hard drive uncompressed and then convert to dvd-video using BD Rebuilder in alternative output mode. You would need a blu ray decryption program (DVDFab HD Decrypter is free to use) and a blu ray drive in your computer.
