I encountered this the other day on a DVD. I tried all the DVD ripping programs (SmartRipper, Clad, VStrip, DVDecrypter), and none of them worked. I was able to get most of the VOBs, but 1 kept giving me problems. It kept failing after it was ~60% done.
Most of the programs have the option to ignore the error. I chose this option, but there was more than one bad block so the error kept coming up. If you select ignore a few times with DVDecrypter, it will give you the option to ignore all future errors - so you might want to try that. I did that, but there were problems with the next 10-15 minutes of the video. And when I played the DVD, I noticed it wouldn't play in those areas - it skipped to the next good section. I concluded that it was just a bad DVD and gave up trying to rip it.
