vegas: help

hello,
i'm searching for help, can't find an answer over the internet. so i'm here.
my green FX button of audio edition in vegas (8) is locked, suddenly i can't see the window with the FX options opening.
i'm editing this video and have a such a close deadline.
the same kind of bottom for video editing working like always worked, poping up the window of fx at me normally.

Close the program. Now press CTRL+SHIFT while double-clicking on the program's icon to launch it. Continue to hold the CTRL & SHIFT keys until the program is fully up and loaded.
In newer programs, you will see a window that asks "Do you want to reset all preferences to default values?" Place a checkmark next to "Delete all cached application data" and then click Yes.

if that doesn't work you'll have to un-install and then re-install vegas.
