Hi,
Sorry about the title, not sure how best to put it...
My recordings in PAL from Free-to-Air sources only.
My sat receiver records video in the "TRP" format with is really a standard Mpeg Transport Stream.
It records the shows in 1.5 GB chunks called vid.trp, vid.001, vid.002 etc.
I have been trying to archive the shows as AVCHD or DVD but when I concatenate (append) them in AVIDemux (only software I have found to work so far, I may be wrong!) the audio is always off by a few hundred milliseconds. No big deal, I can adjust that...
Problem is though that lately each "chunk" has a different "desynch", e.g. vid.trp is off by -655 but vid.001 is off by -40.
I know there is something wrong with my work flow or settings but I have already spent days and so far resigned myself to encoding each "chunk" and using VLC playlists .
As I said, I would like to get them AVCHD or DVD compliant. I am currently only editing SD content though I have HD content I would like to work on too....
Let me know if I forgot to mention anything.
Thanks in advance for your help.
BTW: My PC is Windows

	Thanks (fellow) Yank in Europe,
Are you suggesting using ProjectX to concatenate the files, output as MTS and then edit/encoding?

I have used it in the past but the interface comes with a learning curve and was avoiding it (lazy I know...)
Just a quick clarification would be appreciated.

PS: Doesn't ProjectX chock on HD (not immediately relevant but curious)Last edited by dvd3500; 29th Oct 2012 at 10:34.

Gotcha.... will give it another try... I presume the guide on doom9 (though outdated) will get me started

Just confirming that ProjectX worked perfectly on my SD TRP (MTS) files.
The sound is off by maybe 40 milliseconds but it is off at a consistent rate which is easily fixable.

BTW: I used TSsplitter to join some HD files (also TRP/MTS) and it seems to be working fine.

Once I got my head around the better workflow it seems to be going smoothly!
 Thanks Hech54!
