  1. Hi folks-I am working towards getting a 1960's era broadcast tube TV camera (GE PE-250) working, and need to find some components. I'm not exactly sure what kind of forums would have folks familiar with this type of gear(video forum? vintage tv forum?). If any of you have any insights about that, I'd really appreciate it -thanks!

  2. suggest trying: https://forum.batc.org.uk/viewforum.php?f=11&sid=8d4553a28c74d87c0af4f96da0322fbb
    and
    https://www.bvwtm.org.uk/tv.htm
    and
    https://becg.org.uk

They are multi-national despite the name and cover broadcast as well as receiving equipment.

  5. This is an interesting subject for a very old fart like me, BUT I am afraid another aspect of my past professional life kicks in here; be super careful working with older equipment, please! Safety, is my point. That thing called electricity is mighty useful, but can be a bad thing, if you aren't careful. Please be careful. And good luck.

Well, it is the "older equipment" part of this that has me fussing over safety. Might be a little more scanning and scrutiny is useful to be safe. And that "scanning" is meant like when we are flying and scanning the instrument panel and then the horizon and back to the instrument panel - - - always scanning. Well, when you are inside one of the electric devices, no matter what kind, scanning is a good idea. And if it is older equipment, maybe more scanning than usual is a good idea.

    Stay safe. And good luck.

(I haven't seen a vacuum tube in many years.) [You know why the smacking of a box worked? It could seat a loose vacuum tube.]
