LG RHT497H DVD recorder - XP not reading DVDs made

How do I get DVDs (-/+R with content recorded by my LG RHT497H) to read on my PC running XP?

The DVDs playback perfectly on the LG but XP won't recognise them.

Have trawled the net in vain for a solutions.

Thanks for the tip....the discs work OK now..........just as the manual says!.......
