    Hi,

I need to make my Samsung Home Cinema (HT-D6750w) region free. I've tried the other solutions on the forum to no avail.

Do any of you know how to do this of have any of you managed to successfully make this specific version region free?

It would be greatly appreciated if you could post some information on how you did it!

    Thanks!

Specialty systems such as home theater models have always been difficult to make region free with most models not having hacks. Normally having Samsung or Sony would just add to the chances of there being no hacks, but you live in Australia so maybe someone will post with a hack that works. Some members here from Australia have reported being able to go the manufacturer's Australian office (you can probably find some kind of email address via a search) and get them to provide how to unlock their players. If I understand correctly Australia has some kind of law that mandates that players be able to be unlocked. If so, I would think that Samsung has an obligation to help you unlock it.

    Hello jman98,

I have found an Instruction how to change the region code to another on HT-D67 series. You need to program a three digit number. I have also a list what number has to be programmed for what area. There is one code that has no description, maybe this is the code for region free??

    Instruction:

In the Menu select the Aux-Mode and then press "Tuner memory" on the remote control for about 5 seconds until "T-Mode" is displayed on the VFD Display. Immediately press the down button (triangle above tuner memory) on the remote control. "Test - -" should be displayed on the VFD. If not, you where too slow. Now type the number 47 and look what is displyed on the VFD. This is your actual region code. Three Numbers code and after for what area this code stands for. You should write down that code. Now repeat the above steps, but after "Test - -" type 46 insted 47. You can see "- - -" on the display. Now type the code that you want from the list below and then finally turn off and on the unit.

    Codelist:

    080 USA(ZA)
    081 JAPAN
    082 KOREA(KR)
    083 TAIWAN(ZW)
    084 PHILIPPINES(XP)
    085 MEXICO, PANAMA, COLOMBIA(ZL)
    086 PERU(PE), CHILE(ZS), ARGENTINA(ZB)
087 EU (ZF) (XN) (XE) (EN) (ZV) (EN) (XU), TURKY(TK)
    088 SINGPORE, VIETNAM(XS), INDONESIA(XD), MALAYSIA(XM), THAILAND(XT), INDIA(XL)
    089
    090 RUSSIA, UKRAINE, KAZAKHSTAN(RU)
    091 AUSTRALIA, NEWZILAND(XY)
092 ARAB, PAKISTAN, EGYPT, IRAQ, LEBANON, SYLBIA, MOROCCO, TUNIS(ZN), SAUDI(UM),
    ALGERIA(SH), S.AFRICA(XA), ISRAEL(SQ), NIGERIA(SW), SUDAN(SJ), ETIOPIA, KENYA(KE)
    093 CHINA(XZ), HONGKONG(ZK)
    094 BRAZIL(ZD)
    095 CANADA(ZC)
    096 IRAN(HC)
    097 ETC1
    098 ETC2
    099 ETC3

I think as code 089 has no description, this could be the code for region free. Or eventually 097-099. As you know your intial code, you can easily return to your original region by repeating the above instructions if you should have problems with the new code.

Please try this and let me know if it worked.

    thanks,

    m.k.

  4. I tried the instructions.
I am able to access the menu's and enter the codes.
    I have tried the following codes: 089, 097, 098, 099, 000

This seems to have no effect on the region code. I can still not a play a disc from another region.
I also tried to enter the code for the disc, but this still not let me play the disc, while discs from my region still works.

Really hope I can make this player region free so I can play everything again.

SmellyCat - Where did you buy your player? If you have a region 1 player from the USA or Canada you will almost certainly NEVER get the player unlocked. mk2209's instructions will only have a chance of working on players bought in places other than the USA and Canada and even then the odds are still probably low.

As I say here all the time - if you want region free, do NOT EVER buy Sony or Samsung. Period.

  6. jman98: It is a dvd region 2 player (Europe).
I saw a region unlock code that seemed to work for other people, so I thought I have a pretty good chance to unlock it.
Apart from this I do really enjoy this unit btw.

Chance of this working in the USA/Canada - close to 0.
Chance of this working in Australia (because Australian law mandates that DVD players be unlockable) - good
Chance of this working elsewhere - hard to say. Probably you've got different firmware and/or hardware than mk2209 and that's why it works for him and not for you. This happens more than you think. I am not saying that this is likely, but I also wouldn't say that this is impossible either - We've had people show up in the past as new members to post hack information that never works. I suppose there's some chance that mk2209 is just messing with you and knows that this won't work for you. We've also had people post hacks that actually do work, but they leave out absolutely critical bits of information without which the hack will never work. For example, maybe you have to press a special key before or after you enter the code. I find it odd that sometimes months or years later after people ask for unlock codes that people like mk2209 show up as one post wonders who never post again, but their one post supposedly has the information needed to unlock some player. We've had mixed reports on such. Sometimes people post back that it actually works, but a lot of times it's just like your experience and the information doesn't help at all.

That's great that you like the player, but again, you buy Sony or Samsung, you understand that you'll probably never get it region free.
