    Hi!
I have some problems with sync subtitles. I've read the guide: http://2005.uploaded.fresh.co.il/2005/07/08/65948686.html#2.1
when I tired method 1, it strated fine but after a while it got out of time again.
and when I tried method 4, in some point it started to be out of time again, and then I fixed it- and again...out of time in other point.
I have some episodes with the same subtitles but synchronized, so I know that it is possible.
I have no idea why I can't do it.
Actually I didn't really understand what "If time is outside the points scope" means. maybe it have something to do with these options.
The format of the subtitles - srt
The format of the video - avi

    Hope someone can help me

Watch the avi with the subtitle and watch where it goes out of sync, usually it will be a scene change and the audio will be off by a bit for around 6 minutes if it's a tv show,if that's the case then highlight from the start of the sub where it has a sync shift and hold shift and go to the end of the sub so that section is highlighted.

Then right click on the lines and select show earlier or later by adjusting the times for them(200ms adjust etc),save the srt and check the sync to see if it matches and also see if it go out of sync at another scene change, just repeat the process where the sync shifts again.

I did this method with subtitle edit.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

This is the same help file you see from the "Help" in the program, no need to go another site.

You choose two (or more) sync points. The option is what to do for times before the first and after the last. Normally you use the default, "Extrapolate" to adjust the whole file.
If your points are actually the first and last subs of the file, then it doesn't matter.
But if you are adjusting sync segment by segment, you would use "No change". I think this may be what you want.

Eg, if you have the first 10 minutes correctly synced, you choose a sync point at 10 minutes and say 20 minutes, and have the option "original time" for outside the scope, then only the times in 10-20 min will be changed.

If you use the three sync buttons (marked "1, 2, S") to set points, this is very fast and easy.
