  2. You could use VideoPack4 to create a disc image of a VCD.

Then use CDMage (? + WinOnCD) to convert to a CUE/BIN disc image.

Then use VCDXRIP to extract the files off the image and write an XML descriptor file.

Firstly, I'm so new to this I can't even get video to encode right so read on at your own risk....

I read the blurb on vcdxrip at http://vcdimager.hvrlab.org/pub/vcdimager/manuals/0.7/vcdimager.html#SEC53 which makes it sound like you have to have a disk image to work from. But the graphic at http://www.hvrlab.org/~hvr/vcdimager/xml_repository.html shows vcdxripping right off the disk.

I haven't installed the software yet but is direct from disk an option?

nah cdmage is s#$% with *.RAW data tracks when it comes to videopack 4 beleve me ive tried

but ive tried a nifty program taht a bud passed on to me called VP42CUE its a dos run program that creates a CUE file for the RAW tracks then i used CDRWIN to import the CUE THEN burn the baby to disk.

but i was wondering if i can create a cue like that, then take alook at the codeing with VCDRIP or sumthing

  5. In regards to your original question, you can use WinOnCD to load the image from VideoPack4 and then write another image with WinOnCD. CDMage can read the WinOnCD images I believe.

    Hey,I looked at at http://www.hvrlab.org/~hvr/vcdimager/xml_repository.html

which tells how to make XML files using GNU VCDIMAGER.

But then I also think that we make an image from there.
BTW, what's an image and how do you actually burn the disk from it (using what available software)?

Is there any easier way of making VCD (with chapters) other than on the link above?
