I have an IBM Thinkpad R31 that for reasons unknown even to me, I love. Well, really it's my net surfing and recipes computer.
And, it's a good size.
Every few years something flakes out on it and every few years I invest the time and parts to repair it. Last week after working fine for about 40 mins the screen suddenly shifted to the right and down slightly and began flickering white and red lines.
I'm thinking it's the inverter board, but on other laptops when it is the inverter the screen seems to be black, not shifted like this. Any thoughts?
