will it except other videos as input? post the mediainfo text output from the bad file.

there are a bunch of other converters, but it's kind of weird you can't play the video file after it's been removed from the mkv wrapper, as it's the same file.

I have added the file into Source titles (though I cannot see it in the list it says it has been added in the Operations window). I changed the output to Elementary MPEG2 streams and set the output folder to a folder on my desktop. I run AVS2DVD with admin rights too (am using windows 7 atm). I keep wondering if its something wrong with the videofile itself. I can watch it as .mkv file but not as .h264 file only. I dont know if thats possible either to watch it, I mean like watching .m2v files etc.
It could be an issue related to icons: see AVStoDVD Help/FAQ/Q2.6

  8. I was just trying AVStoDVD for the first time today, and I got the same error messages/problem you were having.

I tried an older version, and it seems to be working, at least I don't get the error message when I try to run. I was getting error messages when I tried to compile, and when I tried to run the menu wizard.

I also didn't see anything added after adding a title in the new version, but I see it fine with the old version.

New version is 241, old version is 234.

FYI, I am trying to convert AVI/DV files from my Sony Camcorder.

I uninstalled 241 to install 234, but I can install 241 and collect some info, if it would help.

Convertxtodvd will convert an mkv to mpeg with a standard DVD file structure.
