I´m reauthoring a DVD to include new features but would like to cut unnecessary parts of the beggining and end of the movie. So my question is.. when I remux the disc back, do I have to do some IFO updates os something like that, since the output movie will have a shorter running time than the original movie?

Yes, you should create new IFO files. IFOEdit can do this.

    How are you doing this?
If adding new items and deleting others, best to just reauthor from scratch.

Convert VOBs to MPEG (lossless) and then reauthor with something like GfD.
